Patterns Marketplace, Plans & What’s Coming

Loop Darling’s marketplace is being designed for independent knit and crochet pattern creators—but the live website and app currently show demonstration listings, not purchasable designs.

Pattern marketplace preview

The Patterns tab contains five AI-generated concept covers with example prices. The website showcases the same fictional pieces. They are clearly demos: no actual downloadable pattern, approved designer submission, checkout or ownership grant exists yet.

Eventually real designers should be able to submit patterns for review, publish approved listings and offer licensed downloads or app-readable versions. That approval and purchasing infrastructure has not been deployed.

Buy once, use on supported devices: planned

The intended architecture would use one customer account and one permanent pattern ID, with separate verified checkout methods for website, Android and iPhone. Only a trusted server would grant ownership after confirming the payment.

This is a design plan, not an available account or sync service. The iPhone app and its native PDF reader are not yet at feature parity with Android.

How pattern designers will be protected

Planned safeguards include proof of publication rights, content review, private source files, clearly disclosed PDF/app licenses, optional download watermarking and processes for complaints, refunds and creator payouts.

No system can fully prevent someone from photographing or copying what they can see. Protection should focus on authorized delivery, fair terms and reasonable abuse controls.

Free, Studio and Atelier

The app currently describes three product levels: Free for foundational crafting tools; Studio for richer local pattern and project reading; and Atelier for planned AI, sync and advanced fit-related assistance.

The tiers describe current or intended features. This beta does not have working subscription checkout, paid upgrades or entitlement restoration. Do not assume a visible plan card represents a charged membership.

Atelier is future work

Proposed Atelier capabilities include optional help with complicated PDFs, gauge comparison, measurement and ease tools, reviewed pattern resizing, yarn substitution, private backups and cross-device synchronization.

AI should never silently overwrite a designer’s original source or claim that an ambiguous chart was correctly interpreted.

Creator publishing guidelines

Our separate Loopi-Ready Guide proposes clear steps, sizes, sections, repeats and source references. It is not yet an official compatibility certification or an active self-service validator.
