LOOP DARLING ♡ / HELP CENTER / COMMON QUESTIONS

Troubleshooting & Frequently Asked Questions

If something in the beta looks incomplete, the safest approach is to preserve your local files and check the original instructions before trying a destructive fix.

My PDF imported but produced no steps. Is it broken?

Not necessarily. A scanned page may have no selectable text, and charts, images, multi-size repeats or complex garment construction may be intentionally withheld from automatic step creation.

Open the original PDF reader, keep your row/stitch counters, and check the source instructions. The current app does not include reliable OCR or universal chart interpretation.

Why does Next Step not add a row?

Because a PDF passage is not always a worked row. Next Step moves what you’re reading; Row Complete records actual completed work. For numbered row guides the behavior may depend on those row labels.

Why did Loopi suggest the wrong knit or purl?

Stockinette Mode uses the sequence you’ve chosen and the completed-row count; it does not inspect the pattern’s full shaping, borders or resets. Recheck the project’s mode and piece before trusting a parity cue.

Does a saved website link import that webpage?

No. A website URL is a reference to the original page, not permission for the app to scrape or automatically interpret it. Paste authorized written directions if you need local text.

Where are my purchased patterns?

The current Patterns marketplace shows demonstration listings only. Accounts, real purchased libraries, Stripe checkout, App Store/Play Billing and verified entitlements are still planned.

How do I get a lighter or darker app theme?

In the Android beta, open Settings → Appearance and choose Daylight, Moonlight or Follow Device. For the website, use the Daylight / Moonlight / Auto links in its header. Daylight is the website default, and the CSS-only website choice currently resets when you navigate to another page. The app’s saved appearance option and the website switch are separate.

Will I lose projects if I update?

A normal update with the same app ID and signing identity is designed to preserve local data, but beta builds can fail and storage isn’t automatically backed up. Never uninstall or clear app storage just to fix a build warning. Ask for help before changing signing or resetting the Android project.

Do I need a running computer or AI server?

A properly built Android release includes its JavaScript bundle and runs without a continuously running Metro development server. Basic local project tracking and PDF reading do not require a cloud AI service.

Is the iPhone version ready?

Not yet. An iOS app identity and Mac/Xcode preparation notes exist, but Android-only native PDF extraction and rendering need separate iOS implementation and testing.
