How account identity and re-onboarding work ♡
Loop Darling makes it easy to join and create, but protects legal identity information from repeated changes—especially when it may later be needed for tax and payout verification.
Setting up a new Member account
After verifying your email, you will see a welcome screen, a private details form (first name, last name, date of birth and craft), and an optional question about whether you hope to sell someday. You do not have to become a Designer or enter tax information to be a Member. Once you finish, onboarding disappears and your account details are available under My Account → Settings.
Why can’t I edit my birthday or legal name?
After completion, your private first name, last name and date of birth become read-only. This helps keep identity records consistent with financial verification if you later open a Designer shop. Your full date of birth is stored privately for age-eligibility checks; Settings masks the month and day and shows only the final two digits of the year, for example ** / ** / 88. The full birth date is not published as part of your public Member profile.
How to request a correction
- Visit My Account → Settings and review your saved identity details.
- Use Request identity re-onboarding and explain what needs to be corrected. Don’t include your full birth date, government identification number, SSN, banking information or tax documents in the reason.
- An active administrator reviews the request. Your existing identity remains locked while the request is pending.
- If approved, the administrator reactivates your account reconfirmation. Return to Account onboarding, carefully review your private identity, and complete the steps again. The fields lock once you finish.
What if I’m already a paid Designer?
Reopening an identity with Designer or legal seller history creates a financial identity-review hold. This prevents live storefront publication while identity records may differ from the Stripe and tax data. An administrator can release that hold only after confirming the appropriate reconciliation. Shop drafts and application history are not deleted by re-onboarding.
What if a child wants to sell?
Members aged 13–17 can enjoy Loop Darling but can’t submit their own seller application. A parent or legal guardian aged 18 or older can apply from their own adult account through our Young Makers ♡ guide. Children under 13 cannot register their own account.
