Learn something lovely ♡

Small, friendly lessons for knitters and crocheters. Learn a technique, get more from Loopi, or practice a new habit at your own pace. You don’t need a paid plan or a Designer account.

Start with a guide

01 · FIRST STITCHES

Rows versus stitches

A row is one pass across flat knitting; a round goes around circular work. Stitches are individual loops or crochet stitches. Use separate counters so finishing a row doesn’t erase your stitch count.

Practice with counters →
02 · KEEP YOUR PLACE

Read a pattern without losing your row

Open the original PDF, find the current section, and note any repeat such as “work rows 3–6 twice.” Mark your place at each repeat, then check the written instructions before moving on.

03 · WORK A LITTLE AT A TIME

Build a comfortable session

Start a session timer, choose a short goal, and stop when your hands need a rest. Save your project progress before switching apps so your next session starts where you left off.

04 · FOCUS

Keep the next instruction clear

Break a long repeat into smaller steps, keep your source pattern available, and use Focus Mode for a quieter view. Always confirm a tricky abbreviation against its original pattern’s glossary.

05 · YOUR FIRST PROJECT

From yarn to finished project

Choose a beginner-friendly pattern, compare the yarn weight and recommended needle or hook, make a small gauge sample when fit matters, and keep notes as you work. Slow progress is still progress.

06 · DESIGN FOR OTHERS

Make your pattern easier to follow

Use an ordered materials list, consistent abbreviations, clearly labeled sizes, and photos that show the construction. Check your work with a test maker before sharing it widely.
