Getting Started with Loop Darling
Loop Darling is a cozy knitting and crochet companion. The current Android beta saves your projects locally, so you can pause your making and pick it up later.
Where to begin
The bottom navigation has Home, Projects, Patterns, Loopi and Settings. Home welcomes you and helps you continue; Projects contains work you’ve started; Patterns currently previews a future marketplace and is not a checkout.
You do not need an account or an AI subscription to use the current local counters and saved project progress.
Start a project
Open Projects and choose to create a project. Select knitting or crochet, name your work and save it. You can add notes and a pattern source later.
A project records the work you’re doing: rows, stitches, timer, notes and any pattern-position information. A pattern source is separate, so one imported PDF should not overwrite your counters.
Return to a project
Open My Projects and select the project. Previously saved rows, stitches and elapsed timer information are restored from the local device.
You can change the Projects view between compact list and grid. Your Pattern Library has its own independent list/grid setting.
Finishing and reopening
When your work is complete, mark the project finished. It moves to Completed Projects, with an option to reopen it later. Completion is not the same as deleting the pattern or resetting your counters.
Where is my data?
Project data is stored on the device. Cross-device accounts, automatic cloud backup and syncing between Android and iPhone are planned, not available today.
Do not uninstall the beta or clear its app storage to troubleshoot a display or update problem; doing so can erase the only local copy of your progress.
